After you discover the Hyper-V and VMware servers on your network, you can
gather inventory on these servers.
See
"Getting started with the Virtual Machine Management component"
on page 39.
To gather inventory of the virtual servers, you must run a Virtual Machine
Management Inventory task. The Inventory task lets you collect the data about
the host machine and its virtual environment. For example you can collect
information about the host name, IP address, system type, and hardware
utilization. You also can collect information about the virtual machines, virtual
disks, and the virtual networks that are created on the host machine.
You can run the inventory task once or you can set it to run repeatedly and
automatically update the inventory data.
For more information, see the topics about gathering inventory in the Inventory
Solution Help.
