Layer Layers sit on top of an image and contain effects or masks. Layers can be
manipulated and the order can be changed. You can make changes to layers as you work
with a photo and then apply those changes to the photo.
Lightness Lightness is a variation of a hue along a scale from black to white.
Marquee When you drag the cursor over several objects in the InRoom to select them,
you create a marque around them.
Mask A mask selects the area where you want to apply an effect. See Layer.
Memory dots You can store and recall settings that you want to reuse from memory dots.
For example, if you create a mask that you want to reuse, you can store it in a memory
dot.
Nudge A slight movement applied to masks or to printer settings is referred to as a
nudge.
Opacity Opacity is a brush control that allows you to apply a uniform effect. Repeated
brushing applies additional layers of an effect so you can build it up.
Pages Albums contain pages that display images and text.
Palette (A controller for effects. It contains sliders, drawers, and other controls for
working with an effect.
Pan tool The pan tool allows you to moves a zoomed image around the working area.
Pencil Unlike the real item that it mimics, a pencil is a drawing tool that can be adjusted
to many different sizes or characteristics
Pixel Pixels are the display unit of a computer. (It is short for Picture Element.) Most
images are displayed at 72 pixels/inch. Images can be captured, scanned, or printed at a
resolution of pixels/inch. The higher the number, the larger the file, and the larger it can
be printed without obvious pixels showing. However, if your image has been scanned
with more pixels than you'll ever use for output, the file size will be larger than needed,
and will take up more space.
Plug-ins Plug-ins allow you to add to the functionality of Soap 2. Various types of
plug-ins are supported include device plug-ins that allow additional devices to work with
Soap 2, and effects which provide you with additional tools to manipulate your photos.
