Your main work area in GroupWise is called the Main Window. From the Main Window, you can
read your messages, schedule appointments, view your Calendar, manage contacts, change the mode
of GroupWise you are running in, open folders, open documents, and much more.
For more information on using GroupWise, click Help > User Guide in the GroupWise Client.
1.12 Opening or Creating Documents with
OpenOffice.org
For creating and editing documents, OpenOffice.org is installed with the GNOME desktop.
OpenOffice.org is a complete set of office tools that can both read and save Microsoft Office file
formats. OpenOffice.org has a word processor, a spreadsheet, a database, a drawing tool, and a
presentation program.
To get started, click Computer > OpenOffice.org Writer or select an OpenOffice.org module by
clicking Computer > More Applications > Office, then select the module you want to open.
A number of sample documents and templates are included with OpenOffice.org. You can access the
templates by clicking File > New > Templates and Documents. In addition, you can use wizards,
which guide you through the creation of letters and other typical documents.
