Installing A Cooling Fan

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or
telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your
warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.
1.
Align the plug at the base of the cooling fan with the connector on the system board.
2.
Slide the cooling fan into the securing slots until the tabs lock into place.
Ensure that the cooling fans are properly seated in the cooling fan connectors on the system board.
CAUTION: For proper cooling of the NAS appliance, ensure that all the cooling fans are operational at all times.
3.
Close the cooling fan access door.
4.
If applicable, install the front bezel.

Opening And Closing The NAS Appliance

WARNING: Whenever you need to lift the NAS appliance, get others to assist you. To avoid injury, do not attempt to
lift the system by yourself.
