Installing A Controller

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or
telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your
warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.
NOTE: This is a service only procedure.
1.
Ensure that the controller cover is closed.
2.
Align the controller with the appropriate slot in the NAS appliance.
3.
Push the controller into the NAS appliance until the controller seats into place.
4.
Push the handle toward the front of the NAS appliance until it locks.
5.
Reconnect the network cables that were connected to the back of the controller.
NOTE: The controller automatically powers on if at least one power supply is connected to a power source.
6.
Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to the power supply unit.
7.
Attach the controller to the cluster using the NAS manager user interface.
