If a problem arises

Possible cause
The camera does not respond or the monitor does not turn on
The power is off.
The battery is exhausted.
The battery is temporarily
unable to function because of
the cold.
There is condensation inside
the camera.
The camera turned off auto-
matically in the shooting mode.
The camera turned off auto-
matically in the playback
mode.
The camera is connected to a
computer.
You used a card that had been
formatted on a computer.
No picture is taken when the shutter button is pressed
The card is full.
The flash is charging.
The picture is being written to
the card.
The memory gauge is full.

Turn the camera on.
Charge the battery.
Warm the battery by putting it
in your pocket for a while.
Turn the camera off and wait until
it dries before turning it on again.
To save battery power, the cam-
era automatically enters the
sleep mode after about 3 min-
utes of no activity. Press any
button such as the zoom button.

camera automatically enters

era on again.
The camera will not operate while
it is connected to a computer.
The camera does not work properly
This may damage the card or
the pictures files on the card. It
may also make the recording
time exceptionally long or pre-
vent playback. Format the card

insert a new card. Before eras-
ing, transfer all important pic-
tures to a computer.

lamp stops blinking.
Wait until the card access mark
stops blinking.
Wait until there is room in the
memory gauge.
