Lamps, indicator, and mark

The green lamp, flash stand-by/flash charging lamp, battery check
indicator and card access mark, which are displayed on the monitor,
indicate the following depending on whether they are on, off or blinking.
Lamp, indicator

Green lamp
The subject is in focus (when
lights
the shutter button is pressed
halfway).
Green lamp
The subject is not in focus
blinks
(when the shutter button is
pressed halfway).
Flash stand-by/
The flash is charging.

lamp (#) blinks
Camera movement warning or
inappropriate exposure warning
(when the shutter button is
pressed halfway).
Battery check
The battery is running low.

Card access
The picture or movie is being
mark (X) blinks
written to the card or processed.
Camera status
Possible/
Impossible actions
Pictures can be taken.
Pictures can be taken, but may
be out of focus.
No pictures can be taken.
If you want the flash to fire, wait
until the indicator stops blinking.
Pictures can be taken, but may
come out blurred or dark.
Hold the camera firmly or set
the flash mode to [#].
Charge the battery or replace
with a charged battery.
Do not open the battery com-
partment/card cover, or do not
connect or disconnect the bat-
tery or the AC adapter. The pic-
tures taken cannot be stored or
even the stored picture data
may be lost.
