If a problem arises
Possible cause
The flash was blocked by your
finger.
The subject was out of the
working range of the flash.
The flash was set to [$].
The picture was taken against
the light.
You took a picture of a bright
subject such as a snow-cov-
ered landscape.
Indoor lighting can affect the
picture's colors.
There was no white in the sub-

ject.
The white balance setting is
wrong.
[PC] was selected on the moni-
tor after connecting to the
printer with the USB cable.
The printer does not support
PictBridge.
The USB driver has not been
installed.

The picture is too dark
The colors of pictures taken indoors look unnatural
The printer fails to connect
The camera is not recognized by the computer
Corrective action
Hold the camera correctly.
Shoot within the flash working
range.
Select a flash mode other than
[$].
Set the flash to [#], or use the
spot metering mode.
You can take a beautiful picture
in this situation by setting the
shooting scene mode to [R]
(BEACH & SNOW).
Adjust the white balance to suit
the lighting.
Include something white in the
picture, or shoot using [#].
Adjust the white balance
according to the light source.
Remove the USB cable, and
start again from step 1.
Refer to the printer's instruc-
tion manual or contact the
printer manufacturer.
It is necessary to install the
USB driver for Windows 98/
98SE. Install the driver.
