• When the focus and exposure are locked,
the green lamp lights (focus lock).
• The AF target mark moves to the focused
position.
• The shutter speed and aperture value
automatically set by the camera are
displayed (except in M mode).
• # blinks to warn of camera movement.
Press the flash button to open the flash.
• When # lights after the flash has popped
up, the flash is ready to fire. The flash fires
automatically when the shutter button is pressed all the way.

Press the shutter button all the way (fully).
• The camera takes the picture.
• The card access lamp blinks while the picture is stored on the card.
• The available settings vary depending on the mode.

IF CORRECT FOCUS CANNOT BE
OBTAINED (FOCUS LOCK)
When the subject cannot be focused on, you can focus the camera on
another point at roughly the same distance (focus lock) and take the picture
as explained below.

Position the AF target mark on the
subject you want to focus on.
• When shooting a hard-to-focus subject or
a fast-moving subject, point the camera at
an object about the same distance away
as the subject.

Press the shutter button halfway
until the green lamp lights.
• When the focus and exposure are locked,
the green lamp lights.
• The AF target mark moves to the focused position.
• When the green lamp blinks, the focus and exposure are not locked.
Release your finger from the shutter button, re-position your subject
and press the shutter button halfway again.
