Note: The tapes for securing the built-in battery are not reusable. Whenever the built-in
battery is removed, you should order new tapes.

Disconnect the connector and then remove the built-in battery.
Step 2.
Install the built-in battery in reverse order. When installing:
• Ensure that the connector is attached firmly.
• Ensure that the base cover assembly is secured in place. Otherwise, the battery connection may
fail.
Note: After the built-in battery is removed or re-installed, Date/Time, power-on password and system
management passwords are initialized. Press F1 to enter the ThinkPad Setup program to change Date/Time.
Kickstand
Follow the instructions to replace the kickstand.
