INFORMATION
When the charging amount is little, the "pe" code
may not be displayed, but instead the "p9" code
will be displayed immediately.
When the required (calculated) additional
refrigerant amount is already charged before
"pe" or "p9" indication appears, close valve C
and wait till "p9" is displayed.
INFORMATION
When a malfunction is detected during the
procedure (e.g, in case of closed stop valve),
a malfunction code will be displayed. In that
case, refer to "16.2 Malfunction code list"
and solve the malfunction accordingly.
Resetting the malfunction can be done by
pushing BS3. The procedure can be restarted
from 6B).
Aborting the automatic refrigerant charge is
possible by pushing BS1. The unit will stop
and return to idle condition.
Information which may occur during additional
refrigerant charging procedures:
p8: Indoor unit freeze up prevention
Action: Close valve C. Reset malfunction by pushing BS1.
Retry auto charge procedure.
p2: Abnormal low pressure drop
Action: Close valve C. Reset malfunction by pushing BS1.
Check following items before retry auto charge procedure:
Check if the gas stop valve is opened correctly.
-
Check if the valve of the refrigerant cylinder is opened.
-
Check if the air inlet and outlet of the indoor units
-
are not obstructed.
Other malfunction code: close valve C.
Confirm the malfunction code and take corresponding
action, "16.2 Malfunction code list".
C Perform Manual refrigerant charge function.
3C
The first 10 kg of additional refrigerant can be
charged without outdoor unit operation.
If the additional refrigerant amount is smaller
than 10 kg (R < 10kg), perform the pre-charging
procedure as explained in step 4C and 5Ca.
If the additional refrigerant charge is larger than
10 kg (R ≥ 10kg), perform step 4C till the end of
the procedure 7C.
4C
Pre-charging can be done without compressor
running by connecting the refrigerant bottle
only to the liquid stop valve service port
(open valve B). Make sure that the stop valves
are closed (valve A+liquid stop valve+gas stop
valve).

5Ca I f the calculated additional refrigerant amount is
reached by above pre-charging procedure, close
valve B.
Refrigerant charging is finished.
5Cb I f the total amount of refrigerant could not be
charged by pre-charging, then close valve B and
go to step 6C. Follow step 7C depending on the
chosen charging method.
INFORMATION
If the total additional refrigerant amount was
reached in step 5C (by pre-charging only),
record the amount of refrigerant that was added
on the additional refrigerant charge label
provided with the unit and attach it on the back
side of the front panel.
Perform the test procedure as described in
"16.1 Test operation".
6C A fter pre-charging, perform the refrigerant charge
operation through valve A.
Open the liquid and gas stop valves.
Valves A and B must remain closed!
INFORMATION
For a multi outdoor unit system, it is not required
to connect all charge ports to a refrigerant tank.
The refrigerant will be charged with 26 kg in
1 hour time an outdoor temperature of 30°C DB or
with 18 kg at an outdoor temperature of 0°C DB.
If you need to speed up in case of a multiple
outdoor system, connect the refrigerant tanks to
each outdoor unit.
