Lightning
For added protection lot this set during a lightning
storm, or when it is lelt un_ttcnded and unused lor
long periods of time, unplug it l_om the wall outlet
and disconnect tile antenna or cable system. This
will prc_ enl damage to the set due to lightning and
powcr-line surges.
Safety Check
Upon completion ol any service or repairs to the
sel. as the ser_ ice lectmician to perl_mn routine
salcty checks (as specilied by the manul_,cturcr ) to
delermine thal lhe _1 is in sail: operaling condition.
Damage Requiring Service
Unplug the set lronl the wall outlcl and rcft:r

lbllowing condilions:

being dropped, or the cabinet has been damaged.
If the set does not operate normally when
lollowing the operating instructions. Adjust only
those controls that arc specified in the operating
instructions, hnproper adjustmenl of other
controls may rcsu]l ill damage and will often
require extensive work by a qualilied technician
