— program number «Pr 1»;

— astereo program «FM STEREO»;
— mono reception on FM «MONO»;
— tuning of an FM station «> D «1»;
— the 40 stations are stored «FULL».
On/Off
— Press button 1 to switch the unit on. Data appears in display 3 in
relation to the frequency or the program previously selected.
— To switch the unit off, press button 1. The unit is now in the standby
mode.
Station search
The display 3 indicates the frequency of reception. This frequency is
given in megahertz (MHz) for the FM band and in kilohertz (KHz) for the
MW and LW bands.
The frequency increases when button 8 is pressed and it decreases
when button 7 is pressed.
«FM»: 87.5 to 108 MHz.
— «AM»:
522 to 1611 kHz in «MW?» (medium waves).
153 to 279 kHz in «LW» (long waves).
How to select a wavelength
— Button 11 Frequency modulation.
(The indication «FM» appears in the display.)
— Button 10 Medium wave or Long wave.
When button 7 or 8 is held down, the receiver continuously scans the
two wavelengths
MW/LW,
stopping
briefly when
the wavelength
changes:
— indication: «MW^» for medium wave,
— indication: «LW» for long wave.
Onthis receiver, stations can be located in three different ways:
— automatic search,
— manual search,
— direct call of the frequency.
N.B.: Automatic or manual search is only possible in «Frequency»
mode: if a program number is indicated in the display, press button 9,
to change the display.
a) Automatic search
This type of station search only functions for FM.
— Press button 11; «FM» lights up.
— Press button 6 to make «AUTO» light up.
— Press button 7 or 8 briefly; station search takes place automatically
in one direction or the other. As soon as the radio picks up a station
with a sufficiently strong signal, search stops on the exact frequency
of the station for the best possible reception. The frequency of the
station remains on display, along with the tuning symbol «D> D «1».
Note: If this frequency is already stored in one of the 40 programs, the
display shows the program number 1 to 40 for a few seconds, then the
station frequency reappears.
— Press button 7 or 8 again to search for the next station.
Important:
— When your radio is on automatic search a device operates to
eliminate his between FM stations.
If reception of the desired station is very poor in your area, it is
essential to turn to manual search, as the automatic search device
only selects stations which are sufficiently powerful to provide good
listening.
— Automatic station search mode continues until button 6 is pressed
again.
b) Manual search
The frequency increases or decreases by a 1 kHz step in MW and LW
and by 0.01 MHz in FM.
— Press button 6 to erase «AUTO» if the latter shows in the display.
— Select the desired wavelength.
— Press and hold down button 7 or 8 and release when the frequency
shown in display is near that of the desired station.
— Then press button 7 or 8 lightly to display the exact frequency of the
desired station, so as to abtain the best possible reception.
Note: The «> 0 <» symbol indicates perfect tuning of an FM station
and lights up every 9 kHz on AM (standardized step between two AM
stations).
c) Direct call of a frequency
This method can be used if you know the frequencies of the stations
received in your area.
— Press button 10 or 11 once or twice depending on the wavelength
you wish to select.
An indication will appear in display 3.
FM — — — — MHz (in frequency modulation) or,
MW
— — — —
kHz (in amplitude modulation).
In both cases the dash furthest to the left will flash.
Note:
— |n AM the radio is automatically in medium wave «MW^». To call a
longwave station «LW^», just press button «0» of assembly 2 before
displaying the desired frequency if the latter is situated between 150
and 199 kHz.
The display becomes: LW — — — kHz.
For frequencies situated between
200 and 279 kHz, the radio
Switches automatically to longwave.
— In FM the first time button «1» of assembly 2 is pressed, the number
10 is automatically displayed for more rapid selection of frequencies
from 100 to 108 MHz.
— Enter the number of the desired frequency using buttons «1» to «0»
of assembly 2.
When pressing one of the buttons from «1» to «0», the relative figure is
displayed in place of the blinking dash which will move forward as you
go on composing the frequency number.
For example if you want frequency 100.85 MHz in frequency modula-
tion:
— Press button 11 once or twice:
the display FM
— — — — MHz is lit up
— Press button «1» of assembly 2 the display becomes
FM 10 — e — — MHz.
