Maintenance Procedures
Table 26. Maintenance schedule (continued)
Task
Ensure all communication cables are secure.
Ensure all electronic modules are secure.
Check physical condition of all exposed printed circuit boards
(PCBs).
Check all exposed PCBs for dust build-up and clean if necessary.
Check discharge and suction pressure/temperature sensors for
accuracy against calibrated pressure/temperature gauges.
Re-apply Gel Lanoline to connections suggested by Turbocor once
every 2 years to protect against moisture buildup.
Electrical Inspection
Verify that all electrical connections on chiller are tight.
Check and record main power supply voltage to chiller and each
compressor.
Check for signs of hot spots/discoloration on power cables, line
reactors, distribution blocks and any other connection point.
Check amperages during operation are as per design.
Check for damaged/stripped wires (around panel doors, casings,
pinch points).
Check operation of all system safety devices and interlocks.
Calibrate temperature sensors.
Refrigeration Inspection
Check system for leaks using an electronic leak detector.
Replace relief valves as per your local codes or once every 5 years.
Verify operation of compressor IGV's, EXV's, Hot Gas Valves,
Staging Valves, Level Sensors.
Check system and motor-cooling liquid line to ensure sufficient sub-
cooling.
Verify discharge check valve operations. If there is backward gas
flow immediately after stopping the compressor, replace the check
valve.
Inspect/clean motor-cooling strainer (if service has taken place).
Communications and Controls Inspection
Verify communication between HMI, PLC, and BMS via BMS
Interface page.
Other Inspections
Verify panel heater is set above 45°F and is in working condition.
Verify optional heat trace is operating correctly and is set above
33°F.
(a)
During motor cooling strainer service or any other service, verify that there is no oil contaminating the refrigeration system.
(b)
This verification should be performed by a competent company using nondestructive equipment. If chiller is under factory warranty, reports should be emailed to arctic.
warranties@tranetechnologies.com.
(c)
Fault and event logs should be emailed to arctic.warranties@tranetechnologies.com if the equipment is under warranty.
