C. Close Awning
IMPACT OR CRUSH HAZARD. Always close
awning when snow, heavy rain, wind, and
severe weather conditions are expected.
Do not approach awning if left open during
high winds, if water has pooled, snow accu-
mulated, or heavy debris is on awning fabric.
The awning could move unpredictably, be-
come unstable, and bend or collapse.
Failure to obey these warnings could result
in death or serious injury.
1. Press the close button (up arrow) briefly on
awning remote. Awning should retract until it's
closed. See FIG. 5.

D. Reset Wind Sensor
This awning is equipped with a wind sensing device (lo-
cated on inside surface of lead rail) that will automatically
close awning when windy conditions are present.
If the wind sensor is not responding to windy conditions, it
may need to be reset.
1. Verify wind sensor functionality.
a. With awning extended to its out limit, shake
the lead rail up and down 3" - 4" for approxi-
mately 8 seconds (to simulate wind vibra-
tion). Awning should retract until it's closed.

PINCH HAZARD. Do not remove wind sensor
from sensor base until ready to complete wind
sensor reset. Awning will close automatically
1 hour after wind sensor removal.
b. If awning does not close, remove sensor from
sensor base, then sensor cover from sensor.

NiMH and Li-Ion rechargeable batteries
should not be used in an outdoor environ-
ment. Cold and/or hot temperatures have a
negative effect on these types of batteries.
c. Install new alkaline batteries in wind sensor.
