If the vehicle t hreaten s to tip over when
driving across a s lope , you must immediate-
ly steer downhill in the direction of the
slope.
Do
not
park your vehicle on steep slopes or
grades .
To reduce the risk of t ipping over, dr ive on
slopes in the direction of the downward slope
(fa ll line) -
not crosswise.

WARNING
After driving through water, m ud, slush,
etc., the brakes may be slow to take effect
because of wet brake rotors and pads. Dry
the brakes first by braking carefully to re-
store the full braking effect.

Note
-
Vehicle components such as the engine,
transmiss ion, suspension or electrical sys-
tem can be severely damaged by driving
through water.

Tips
- Check the depth of the wate r before dr iv-
ing through it.
- Do not stop the vehicle, dr ive in reverse
or switc h the engine off when driving
t hrough water.
- Keep in mind that oncoming vehicles
may create waves that raise the water
level and make it too deep for your vehi-
cle to drive through safely.
- Avoid dr iving through salt water because
it can cause corrosion.
