Outputs sound beams from the front left and right and
center speakers. This mode is ideal for enjoying movies
with the whole family. Because the listening position area
is widened, you can enjoy excellent quality surround
sound over a wider area.
Press 3BEAM on the remote control to select the
3 beam mode.

You can achieve a more realislic surround effect if you a@lsl
settings lot IMAGE LOCATION in BEAM MENU (see page 68).
Note
• When you play back nmlti-chaunel sources, surround left and
right signals are mixed down and output from the front lelt and
right speakers.
• The l?'out left and right sound beams are output towards the
walls in your listening room.
Outputs sound beams from the front left and right
speakers in the 2-channel stereo mode. This mode is ideal
for playing back hi-fi sources, such as CDs, and can be
used to replace your TV speakers.
Press STEREO on the remote control to select
the stereo mode.
STEREO
• When you play back multi-channel sources, all signals except
those lor the l_'ont left and right speakers are mixed down and
output l_x)mthe front left and right speakers. No audio is output
lhom the center and rear channels.
• The surround mode becomes disabled when the stereo mode is
selected.
• When you play back Dolby Digital audio signals in the stereo
mode. the dynamic range becomes compressed. If the vollHne
level decreases to the extreme, use other beam modes except the
target mode.
• If the stereo mode is selected as the beam mode. the surround
modes (see page 44) and the CINEMA DSP programs (see
page 49) becmne inefli:ctive.
