Connect the V.35 cable to the modem or data circuit-terminating
equipment (DCE). Turn the thumbscrews clockwise until tight.

Make sure that all three switches on the V.35 cable are set to OPER.
CAUTION:
For your safety, you must connect equipment only to a properly
wired and grounded outlet. An improperly wired outlet can place
hazardous voltage on accessible metal parts of the equipment. The
customer is responsible for outlet wiring.

Connect the modem or DCE and the control unit to grounded elec-
trical outlets.
Step 10
Set the power switch on the modem or DCE to on. Make sure the
modem or DCE is connected to the communications network.
