Pedal Hold Function and MIDI Settings
You can use an expression pedal and MIDI to make settings on the VGA-5.
Pedal Hold Function Settings
Select the pedal function for the expression pedal.
Pedal Hold On:
When switching memories, the volume corresponds
to the pedal position.
Pedal Hold Off:
When switching memories, the volume set in the
memory is used. The pedal function is enabled after
the pedal is pressed all the way down, or is
completely released.
MIDI Settings
* Omni Mode (MIDI Receive Channel) On/Off Setting
* Volume/Wah Control Number Setting
Pedal Hold On/Off Setting
You can set the function of an expression pedal (optional
Roland EV-5 or BOSS FV-300L) when the pedal is connected
to the VGA-5,
EFX
Lit:
Pedal Hold On
When switching memories, the volume
corresponds to the pedal position.
Not Lit: Pedal Hold Off
When switching memories, the volume set in the
memory is used. The pedal function is enabled
after the pedal is pressed all the way down, or is
completely released.
* Pedal Hold is set to ON at the factory settings,

Use the following procedure for the Pedal Hold function
settings and the MJDI-related settings.
1.
Hold
down
[MANUAL]
while
you
switch
ON
the
POWER switch.
2.
Press
the button
for the functions
you want
to set,
lighting or extinguishing indicators as needed.
The correspondence between [EFX], [TAP], [DELAY],
[CHORUS], and [REVERB] and the functions that are
set is shown below.
Pedal Hold On/Off
Omni Mode On/Off

3. When
you have finished
making
the setting, press
[MANUAL].
The setting is stored, and the VGA-5 returns to its
normal operation status.

These settings are stored in the VGA-5 even without use of the
Write operation.
Omni Mode On/Off Setting
You can set the VGA-5 MIDI channel setting to Omni On,
whereby it can receive data on any channel, or Omni Off (set
at Channel 1).
[el
Lit:
Data can be received on any channel (Omni On).
Not Lit: Only MIDi Channel 1 is used (Omni Off).
This will function only with the channel on the
transmitting MIDI device set to 1.
* The VGA-5's MIDI channel cannot be changed.
* Omni ON is selected in the factory settings.
