Part Names and Functions
FOOT CONTROL
3 Expression Pedal Jack
(EXP PEDAL)
Connect an expression pedal (such as the optional Roland
EV-5 or BOSS FV-300L) here.
You can use the expression pedal as a volume pedal to adjust
the VGA-5's volume level. However, the pedal functions as a
wah pedal! when EFX type in the effect section is set to wah,
and the effect is on.
4 Foot Switch Jack
(FOOT SWITCH)
You can connect a foot switch (BOSS FS-5U or FS-5L:
optional) and use it to switch memories and to turn effects on
and off.
FS-5U Foot Switch
This switch is activated when pressed, and turned off when
not pressed. You can use this to switch effects set in the
VGA-5's memories on and off and to switch memories.
FS-5L Foot Switch
This foot switch alternately switches the corresponding effect
on and off when the pedal is pressed. When the VGA-5's
[MANUAL] button is pressed, you can use this foot switch to
switch effects on and off just as you would with other
conventional amplifiers.
5 Function Switch (FUNCTION)
This switches the function of foot switches connected to the
EFX, DELAY, and REVERB jacks between switching the
effects on and off, and switching among the memories.
However, the settings cannot be changed for each individual
jack.

Effects On and Off
Give priority in determining the effects status
(on/off) to the panel controls :
MOMENTARY
The effects status (on or off) is determined according to the
effect status stored in the memories.

When a single foot switch is connected with one cable to the
DELAY jack, the switch is used for switching the delay on and
off.
The foot switch
in this case turns
the delay on and off.
