Bevel Override Stops
(Fig. 74, Fig. 75)
This tool is equipped with a bevel override func-
tion. To reach down to -2° or up to 47° the 0° and
45° bevel stops can be rotated out of the way. Bev-
el stops will return back to their standard position
once the elevation wheel is pushed to between 0°
and 45°.
To Set Bevel Angle Below 0° and Above 45°:
1. Loosen the Blade Bevel Lock Handle 3 by turn-
ing it counterclockwise.
2. Lift Bevel Stop to override position.
3. While holding the Bevel Stop in the override
position, push the Elevation Wheel until de-
sired angle is reached.
4. Tighten the Blade Bevel Lock Handle by turning
it clockwise.
To Reset Stops:
1. Loosen the Blade Bevel Lock Handle by turning
it counterclockwise.
2. Push the Elevation Wheel to position between
0° and 45°. The Bevel Stop will automatically

Basic Table Saw Operations

Using the Rip Fence

(Fig. 1, Fig. 67, Fig. 68, Fig. 75)
For your own safety, always
observe the following safety
precautions in addition to the safety instructions
on pages 3 through 8.
Ripping, Bevel Ripping, Resawing, and Rabbeting
are performed using the Rip Fence together with
the Auxiliary Fence 97 / Work Support, Tall Rip
Fence Auxiliary Facing 106, Flip-Over Fence 17,
Push Stick 8, or Push Block 96.
1. Never make these cuts Freehand (without us-
ing the Rip Fence 9 or auxiliary devices when
required) because the Blade 31 could bind in
the cut and cause a kickback.
2. Always lock the Rip Fence 9 securely when in
use.
3. Remove Miter Gauge 14 from Table 13 during
any operations which utilize the Rip Fence 9.
4. Make sure Barrier Guard Assembly 26 is in-
stalled for all thru-sawing type cuts. Replace
the guard IMMEDIATELY following completion
of resawing, rabbeting, dadoing or molding op-
erations.
Frequently check the action of the ANTIKICK-
BACK DEVICE 49 by passing the workpiece
alongside of the Riving Knife (Splitter) 25 while
saw is OFF.
Pull the workpiece TOWARD you. If the PAWLS
do not DIG into the workpiece and HOLD
it, then the Pawls 49 must be REPLACED or
SHARPENED. (See "Anti-Kickback Device Main-
tenance" on page 58).
5. Have the Blade 31 extend approximately 1/8"
(3.2 mm) above the top of the work piece. Addi-
tional Blade 31 exposure increases the hazard
potential.
6. Do not stand directly in front of the Blade 31
in case of a KICKBACK. Stand to either side of
the Blade 31.
7. Keep your hands clear of the Blade 31 and out
of the path of the Blade 31.
8. If the Blade 31 stalls or stops while cutting,
TURN SWITCH OFF before attempting to free
the Blade 31.
