Using the Timer
Wake-up timer
Timer functions cannot be used if the current time has not been
properly set on the clock. (« P. 15)
r- First of all
Prepare the source you wish to play.
cD: Load the desired disc. é -
Tuner: Tune the receiver to the desired broadcast station.
The station received when the timer is set will be
turned on by the timer.
Tape: Load the desired playback cassette tape.
MD: Load the desired disc.
Adjust the volume as desired
This will be the volume used when the timer turns the com-
ponent on.

Example: Using the timer to play back a CD from 6:30 to 8:00

1. Select the CD function.
2. Press the TIMER button.
3. Turn the JOG dial to select "WAKE-UP."

Press the TIMER button (Press ENTER button when
using CD MD Tuner).
5. Set the timer start time (hour).
Turn the JOG dial to set the desired hour, then press the TIMER
button (Press ENTER button when using CD MD Tuner).
6. Set the timer start time (minutes). : ,
Turn the JOG dial to set the desired minutes, then press the
TIMER button (Press ENTER button when using CD MD Tuner).
The display will automatically change to show the time one
hour after the set starting time.
7. Set the timer off time (hour).
Turn the JOG dial to set the desired hour, then press the TIMER
button (Press ENTER button when using CD MD Tuner).
8. Set the timer off time (minutes).
Turn the JOG dial to set the desired minutes.
9. Press the TIMER button (Press ENTER button when
using CD MD Tuner) and the selected time will be au-
tomatically confirmed.
After a few seconds, the timer check is completed.
10. Turn off the unit power.
The system will enter the standby mode.
m Tocancel the setting procedure midway through:
Press one of the operation buttons.
m To change the timer settings:
Repeat the setting procedure from the first step. If one of the
setting contents is the same, however, merely press the TIMER
button (Press ENTER button when using CD MD Tuner} and
go on to the next setting.
™ To turn off the timer function:
® Press the TIMER button.
® Turn the JOG dial to select the "WAKE-UP" mode.
@ Press the TIMER button (Press ENTER button when using
CD MD Tuner).
The "TIMER OFF" display will appear and WAKE-UP indi-
cator will turn off.
NOTES:
@ Once set, the wake-up timer will operate at the same time each
day until reset or turned off.
@ if the TIMER button is pressed when the power is set to off
{standby}, the current timer setting contents can be checked.
