Caution Regarding Discs and Tapes Handling

m Always use MiniDiscs bearing the mark
noted to the right.
CAUTION!
@ Never touch the surface of a MD directly.

Do not attempt tc open the shutter by force.

m Storage

Always store discs inside their cases.
@ Avoid storing discs in the following kinds of locations:

Places exposed to high temperatures or humidity.
@
Places exposed to direct sunlight.
@
Places exposed to infiltration by sand and dust.
m Caring for the Cartridge
Wipe away dirt and fingerprints with a soft cloth.
m Applying Labels
Follow the accompanying
rules when
applying labels. If labels
are not applied correctly, it may become impossible to remove
the MD.
@ Apply labels only in the designated area.
@ Do not apply one label overlapping another.
@
\falabel becomes wrinkled or loose, replace it with a new la-
bel.
m Types of MiniDiscs
MiniDiscs may be either recordabie, or playback-only.
@ Playback-only MD {recording not possible}
iayback-only MiniDiscs are used for commerciaily available
prerecorded music discs. These discs are recorded using the
seme optical recording format as that employed on conven-
tional compact discs.
Shutter is on
the back side.

Recordable MD
Recordable
MiniDiscs
are soid "empty,"
and use magneto-
optical technology to allow repeated recording and erasing.
Shutters are on
both sides,
-— In order to prevent accidental erasure of your >
recordings:
| An accidental erasure-prevention tab is located on the side
of the MD. Set it to the open position to prevent recording on
the disc.
