Activate
Fax
Retrieve
Note:
In most
prompts
relating to its
Fax
Retrieve System
,
your fax machine
uses
the abbreviation
"Fax
Fwrd
,"
short for
"fax
forwarding
"
- a
fax
industry term for
what the
Fax
Retrieve System does.
Once
you
' ve
set your
access
code (see
"
Set Access
Code,"
page
46),
you
're
ready to
turn
on the Fax
Retrieve
System.
Here
's
how:
1. Set your fax machine's reception
mode
to
"Fax
Ready"
(see
page
26)
.
2. Press
-7/Program,
0, 1, Mode/Enter.
Important:
Please note that
the
key
used in this and other Fax Retrieve
system
settings
is
the letter
"O,"
not a zero.

3.
To change the setting
,
press
f-
or
-7/Program
. To
activate the
Fax
Retrieve
System, select "On
."
Once
it's
as you wish, press
Mode/Enter.
When
the
Fax
Retrieve System has been
set to

your
fax
machine's display
will
indicate
it
by
showing
the
term
"Frwd,"
as
in
this
example:

Muratec
Set Printing of Received Documents
Even
with
its
Fax Retrieve System activated, your Muratec fax machine can
still
print
incoming fax
documents
as well
as
hold
them in
memory (see also "Set
Clearing
of
Printed
Documents," right
column).
To
specify
this:
1.
Press -7/Program,
0, 2, Mode/Enter.
Fax Fwrd & Print
:
Off
Program/Enter
2.
To change
the
setting
,
press
f-
or -7/Program.
Here's what each setting does (if the Fax Retrieve System is activated):
"Off"
- Saves
incoming
documents into
memory;
does not print them
until
commanded (see
"Print Documents in
Memory,"
right column)
.
"On
"
- Saves incoming documents into memory
and
prints
them
as they
arrive
,
as in a normal reception of
fax
documents.
Once this setting is
as
you wish
,
press
Mode/Enter.
