Go to Procedure 3 on page 2-12.
Replace the suspected 3299 with the same-model spare. Make
sure the 3299 has its device signal cables properly installed and
is powered on. At one of the displays to be tested, set the
Normal/Test switch to Test, then to Normal, or turn power off,
then on, and wait up to 2 minutes, whichever is appropriate.
Is a

symbol displayed in the left portion of the operator
information area? (See the note below.) If a printer is
attached, is the Ready indicator lit and no error code
displayed?

Your 3299 that was replaced is defective. Resume normal
operation. Follow the 3299 Service/Replacement Procedure on
page 2-6.
Note:
For an IBM 3270 Personal Computer Attachment,
ensure that the Personal Computer is set in the correct
mode to attach it to the
3274.
For 3290 display units, if
anything other than a

symbol is displayed in the
operator information area, go to the 3290 Information
Panel Customer Problem Analysis and Resolution,
GA23-0125, or the 3290 Information Panel Problem
Determination Guide, GA23-0126, whichever is
appropriate.
