Is the printer CHECK indicator on, Ready indicator off, or
an error code displayed in the status indicators?

May be a customizing, host program, or local copy
problem. Contact the person responsible for customizing,
or request appropriate service.
Perform problem determination on the failing printer. (See
"Related Publications" on page iv of this guide for publication
order numbers.) If the status code indicates a possible printer
signal cable problem, swap the signal cable of the failing
printer with the signal cable of a known working printer at the
control unit ports or, for 3299 attachments, at the 3299 output
ports. If this procedure is impossiblp, because of the locations
of printers, etc., request appropriate service.

Never connect or disconnect device signal
cables during an electrical storm.
Power off, then on, at both printers.
