ADJUSTING PUMP NEUTRAL
POSITION
See Figure 16.

1. Park unit safely. (See PARKING on
page 20.)
2. Shut off unit.
3. Check steering control lever neutral
position. See STEERING CONTROL
LEVER NEUTRAL ADJUSTMENT on
page 26.
CAUTION: Avoid injury! Unit must
be safely supported on jack stands
before removing or installing
wheels. Do not use a hoist or floor
jack to support the unit.
4. Raise drive wheels off the ground and
securely support the unit and block
caster wheels.
5. Pull speed control levers back fully to
neutral position.
6. Engage steering control lever latches.
7. Disconnect return spring (A) from
anchor bolt (B) on pump actuation
bracket (C).
8. Loosen jam nut (D) from clevis (E) on
lower end of steering control rod (F).
9. Remove two jam nuts (G) from bolt (H).
10. Remove bolt (H) from pump bracket (C)
and clevis (E).
11. Start engine.
12. Run engine at full throttle.
13. Move actuation bracket (C) to position
where corresponding rear wheel does
not turn. The drive pump is now in
neutral.
14. Shut off engine.
IMPORTANT: Once neutral is found, DO
NOT move position of pump actuation
bracket.
15. Rotate clevis (E) on lower end of
steering control rod (F) to adjust its
length. Clevis holes must align with
mounting hole in pump actuation bracket
(C).
16. Install bolt (H) through clevis (E) and
pump actuation bracket (C).
17. Install two jam nuts (G) on bolt (H).
18. Tighten jam nut (D) against clevis (E) to
secure length of steering control rod.
19. Connect return spring (A) to anchor bolt
(B) on pump actuation bracket (C).
20. Repeat steps 7 through 19 to adjust
opposite side steering control rod.

ADJUSTING CONTROLS HEIGHT
(988153, 154, 155, 169)
1. Pull speed control levers back fully to
neutral position.
2. Engage steering control lever latches.
NOTICE: See Figure 16 for steps 3 though 6.
3. Disconnect return spring (A) from
anchor bolt (B) on pump actuation
bracket (C).
4. Loosen jam nut (D) from clevis (E) on
lower end of steering control rod (F).
5. Remove two jam nuts (G) from bolt (H).
6. Remove bolt (H) from pump bracket (C)
and clevis (E).
7. Repeat steps 3 though 6 for opposite
side steering control rod.
NOTICE: See Figure 17 for steps 8 and 9.
8. Remove four hex bolts and flat washers
securing controls assembly (handlebars
and dash) plates to side plates. Retain
hardware.
NOTICE: Multiple holes in controls assembly
plates allow a range of height adjustments.
9. Move controls assembly to desired
height and secure to side plates with
four hex bolts and flat washers.
