Drive Bay Installation/Removal

For SATA drives, you do not need to access the inside of the chassis or remove
power to replace or swap drives. Use standard 1" high, SATA drives in the system.
Note: Enterprise level hard disk drives are recommended for use in Supermicro
chassis and servers. For information on recommended HDDs, visit the
Supermicro web site at http://www.supermicro.com/products/nfo/files/storage/SBB-
HDDCompList.pdf.
The SC827 chassis contains four individual motherboards in separate node drawers.
Each motherboard node controls a set of three hard drives (Figure 6-15). Note that if
a motherboard node drawer is pulled out of the chassis, the hard drives associated
with that node will power down as well.
