the disinfectants and methods specified therein.

7.4 Service interval

WARNING!
Risk of injury or damage
Service must be performed only by a qualified
technician.
– Contact your Invacare provider for service.
Unless otherwise stated in local requirements, service must
be performed at least every 12 months and according to the
Service Inspection Checklist. When performing annual or
regular service, all parts designed to carry load must be, as
a minimum, tested with maximum load. All safety features
must be checked according to ISO 10535:2006 Annex B.

7.4.1 Safety inspection checklist

A person who is suitably and properly qualified and well
acquainted with the design, use and care of the lift should
perform periodic inspections.

THE CASTOR BASE

Inspect for missing hardware.

Base opens/closes with ease.
q
Inspect castors and axle bolts for tightness.
q
Inspect castors for smooth swivel and roll.
q
Inspect and clear castors of debris.
q
Inspect pivot joints for wear.
SLINGS AND HARDWARE
q
Check all sling attachments each time it is used to
ensure proper connection and patient safety.
q
Inspect sling material for wear.
q
Inspect straps for wear.
q
Inspect stitching.
THE HYDRAULIC PUMP/ELECTRIC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
q
Check for leakage.
q
Inspect hardware on mast, boom and base.
q
Check for wear or deterioration. If damaged, return
to factory.
q
Cycle to ensure smooth quiet operation of the electric
actuator.
q
Check for smooth operation of the pump handle for
hydraulic pumps.
THE BOOM
q
Check all hardware and hanger bar supports.
q
Inspect for bends or deflections.
q
Inspect bolted joints of boom for wear.
q
Inspect to ensure that the boom is centered between
the base legs.
q
Check the mast pivot bolt. Ensure that the bolt is
tightly secured.
q
Inspect pivot joints for wear.

7.5 Lubricating the Lift

Initials:
Refer to the figure for lubrication points. Lubricate all pivot
points with a light grease (waterproof auto lubricant). Wipe
all excess lubricant from lift surface.

7.6 Checking and tightening bolts

THE MAST

Mast must be securely assembled to boom.

Inspect for bends or deflections.

Inspect pivot joints for wear.
THE SPREADER BAR

Check the bolt/hooks for wear or damage.

Check sling hooks for wear or deflection.
q
Inspect pivot joints for wear.
LEG SPREADER HANDLE
q
Ensure leg spreader handle operates smoothly.
CLEANING
q
Whenever necessary.
WARNING!
Risk of Falling
Hydraulic oil or lubricant on the floor can cause a
fall and injury.
– Wipe excess lubricant from the lift after
lubrication.
– Use a facial tissue to wipe excess oil from
around the hydraulic piston.
– If excess oil is leaking from the hydraulic pump,
contact a dealer or qualified technician for
service.
