Turn clockwise to increase the damping; turn
counterclockwise to reduce damping when the shock
absorber rebounds.
Preparatory work
Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. (
Main work
Measure the vertical distance between the rear axle and a
fixed point, such as a marking on the side cover.
Note the value as dimension

Finishing work
Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. (
Measure dimension
Hold the motorcycle upright with aid of an assistant.
Measure the distance between rear axle and fixed point
again.
Note the value as dimension

The static sag is the difference between measure-
ments
Check the static sag.

Adjust the spring preload of the shock absorber.
