Prerequisites

Remove the base cover.

Procedure

1 Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (applicable only if not disconnected earlier).
2 Remove the four screws (M2x3) that secure the battery to the palm-rest assembly.
3 Lift the battery off the palm-rest assembly.
4 Turn the computer over, open the display, then press and hold the power button for five seconds to ground the system board.
