ROADM Features
The user channel LEDs are hardware controlled similar to Local Management Port (LMP). Provisioning is not
required to enable user channel. Autonegotiation advertisement for user channel ports is 10 Mb full/half and
MDIX occurs during autonegotiation. User channel supports IP MTU of a maximum value of 1500 bytes.
The following figure shows an example of user channel between ROADM and ROADM Ethernet connections.

• All the traffic on user channel is untagged.
• IP Connectivity is available among all sites over user channel.
