Playing back the portion you just
recorded – One-Touch Playback

PLAYBACK
Using One-Touch Playback after ShowView system (page
20) or timer recording (page 22) is convenient. You can play
back only the portion you just recorded by pressing a single
button later.

Stop recording (when recording without timer).
The ONE-TOUCH PLAYBACK button on the VCR lights.
If another operating button is pressed after you stop
recording, One-Touch Playback will be canceled.

Press ONE-TOUCH PLAYBACK on the VCR or
OTPB on the remote control.
The tape rewinds to the start of the recorded portion and
begins playback.
When you set the timer for more than two
timer programs
The VCR starts playing back from the earliest one when you
use One-Touch Playback.
Note
One -Touch Playback does not work for recordings of less than
1 minute.

Recording NICAM/A2 stereo
and bilingual programs
This VCR receives and records stereo and bilingual
programs in NICAM/A2 system automatically.
When the VCR receives stereo, "STEREO" appears on the
TV screen.
If the broadcast is bilingual, "BIL" appears on the TV screen.
When recording NICAM/A2 stereo and
bilingual programs
NICAM/A2 broadcasts are recorded according to the
following table:

To select the sound when playing back a
NICAM/A2 - recorded tape

NICAM sound has noise or you want to
record standard sound regardless of the
broadcast type
Press i/MENU and select NIC by pressing j or l, then
press OK. Press i+ or k- to select OFF.
(You can also return to the menu by pressing j or l.)

Notes
• You cannot select NIC when the VCR is in AV1, AV2 or AV3
mode.
• When you set NICAM to OFF, the sound is always output in
mono.
