The heat-sink-and-fan assembly and microprocessor might be very hot. Before you open the computer
cover, turn off the computer and wait several minutes until the computer is cool.
For access, do the following:
1. Remove these parts in order, if any:
• "Side panel" on page 52.
• "Rear fan" on page 56.
• "Memory fan duct" on page 57.
• "Memory fan" on page 58.
• "CPU heat sink" on page 61.
• "Cover presence switch" on page 63.
• "Optional hard disk drive and cage" on page 64.
• "Flex bay fan" on page 65.
• "Flex bay cage" on page 66.
• "Flex module" on page 67.
• "Front panel IO assembly" on page 73.
• "Wi-Fi card" on page 74.
• "Wi-Fi antenna" on page 75.
• "Ambient temp sensor" on page 75.
• "Internal speaker" on page 76.
• "Front fan" on page 77.
• "Hard disk drive and its bracket" on page 78.
• "Hard disk drive fan" on page 79.
• "Think LED cable" on page 80.
• "Power supply assembly" on page 81.
• "Power supply unit cover" on page 83.
• "Power distribution board and bracket" on page 84.
• "NVlink bridge" on page 85.
• "PCI-Express card" on page 86.
• "PCI-Express bracket" on page 89.
• "M.2 solid-state drive" on page 90.

2. Record the cable routing and cable connections, and then disconnect all cables from the system board.
