• Verify that all connections between the drive and the host
system are correctly installed. Most cables have a contrast-
ing color stripe indicating pin 1. Pin 1 on the drive I/O
connector and the DC power connector are indicated in the
figures in the Initial Set-up Information section.
• Verify option select and drive ID select jumpers and instal-
lation of terminator enable jumper where applicable. See
Drive Configuration section.
Do not power up the host system until the drive is mounted and
the system cover is replaced.
• Connect DC power connector to the drive.
• Replace the Host System cover.
• Turn on DC power.
• Boot the system from the floppy drive or from a previously
installed hard-drive if there is one.
• Proceed with drive setup of the new hard drive.
