Sending Faxes

Follow this procedure to send a fax.
For details on sending features, see the Facsimile Guide.

Load a Document
Place the document (face down) on the platen
glass or , adjust the document guides to the
width of the document and load it (face up) in
the ADF.
For details on the types of documents you can fax, their requirements,
and how to place or load documents, see Chapter 3, "Document
Handling," in the User's Guide.

Enter the Fax Mode
Press [FAX].
The FAX indicator lights up and the machine enters fax standby mode.
What if...
● You want to adjust the resolution and density:
See Chapter 4, "Sending Faxes," in the Facsimile
Guide.

Use the numeric keys to enter the recipient's
fax number.
What if...
● You enter a wrong number:
Go back to the wrong digit with [ ]. Or press [Clear]
to delete the entire entry. Then try again.

Send the Document
Press [B&W Start].
What if...
● You want to cancel sending:
Press [Stop/Reset].
You can also cancel sending using [Status Monitor].
(See Chapter 7, "System Monitor," in the User's
Guide.)
● <MEMORY FULL> is displayed:
The machine cannot scan the documents. In this
case, wait for the machine to send any faxes stored
in the memory, then scan the documents.
