Tools and materials

INSTALLATION

The installer of the safety device shall provide the
end user with the following:
• safety devices must be made known to all the
appropriate people. The areas that give access to
the devices should be kept clear of obstructions
• requirements for cleaning to avoid any buildup
of hazardous material (periodic inspection of the
sensitive edge and battery).
⚠ Installation must be carried out by qualifi ed,
experienced personnel in full compliance with
applicable regulations.
Preliminary checks
- Check that the RIO-EDGE fi xing point is in a place
that is protected against shocks, that the surfaces
are solid, that there is suffi cient space to insert the
unit cover and that fi xing to the surface takes place
using suitable components (screws, anchors, etc.);
Fixing and assembly
- Secure the base of the unit using screws suitable
for the structure to be automated (max. Ø 4 mm).
Fit the WL card ⓐ into the base mount of the unit.
Connect RIO-EDGE to the sensitive edge ⓑ.
- Insert the battery only into the WL accessory to be
stored according to the polarity indicated on the card.
Proceed with the storage ( )
- Close the device by latching the top cover and
secure it with the screws provided.
MEMORISATION
The procedure for storing WL accessories
WL is the same for all devices.

Initial conditions
RIO-EDGE: insert the battery only in the card of the
WL accessory to store.
The LEDS CH1 and CH2 fl ash red; otherwise
RESET the accessory.
RIO-CONTROL:Press the [PROG] button of
the card.
The BLUE WIRELESS LED remain ON.
The LEDs CH1 and CH2 on RIO-EDGE go from
red to blue and start fl ashing.
RIO-EDGE press button [T1] or [T2] of the WL
accessory to memorise:
Exit
[T1] acts on the output OUT1 of RIO-
CONTROL
[T2] acts on the output OUT2 of RIO-
CONTROL
The blue WIRELESS LED of the RIO-CONTROL
and RIO-EDGE switch OFF to indicate successful
memorisation
☞ To add a second edge sensitive edge on the
same RIO-EDGE just stored, connect it to IN2 and
press T2 (
ⓒ).
☞To confi gure another RIO-EDGE repeat the
accessory confi guration.
⚠Do not remove the battery in the accessory
just confi gured.
RESET PROCEDURE
Hold down [T2] on RIO-EDGE ①:
after 3 seconds the LED CH1 and CH2 switch ON
with a blue light and remain fi xed ②;
after an additional 3 seconds the CH1 and CH2
LED switch ON with a red light and remain
fi xed ③;
after an additional 3 seconds the CH1 and CH2
LED switch ON with a blue light and fl ash ④;
☞ The LEDS CH1 and CH2 of the RIO-EDGE
switch ON with a red light and fl ash ⑤ to signal
procedure completion.
ACCESSORY REPLACEMENT
If replacing a RIO-EDGE, reset ( ) the entire system
(including all WL and RIO-CONTROL accessories).
Remove the battery from each WL accessory and
repeat the step for storing ( ).
FUNCTIONAL TESTS
After confi guring the entire, prompt manoeuvre start.

The LED of the RIO-EDGE fl ash blue to indicate
that activation was successful.
Press the sensitive edge and verify that the
intervention might lead to the desired state of
security.
At the end of the manoeuvre the LEDs of the
RIO-EDGE fl ash red to indicate the condition of
LOW POWER (absorption reduction).
⚠The LOW POWER condition maximises battery
energy saving for each WL accessory.
If the LOW POWER condition is not re-engaged
or restored, set the jumper to position H of RIO-
CONTROL.
ERROR MESSAGES AND WARNINGS
To know the type of error message and the warning
reported by RIO-EDGE, check the points listed in the
RIO-CONTROL manual.

MAINTENANCE

The safety devices must be maintained in effi cient
working order and in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions.
Check the presence and legibility of the initial
marking.
Replacing the battery
Replace the battery when depleted.
⚠ The life of battery supplied also depends on
the storage time elapsed. Fit the batteries during
installation.
⚠ Replace with the same type or an equivalent
type of battery only.
⚠ Keep the batteries out of reach of children. If
they are swallowed, contact a doctor immediately.

Decommissioning and disposal
- Before pro-
ceeding, it is always advisable to check specifi c
regulations in force in the place of installation.
Packaging components (cardboard, plastic, etc.)
can be disposed of together with normal household
waste without any diffi culty, by simply separating
the diff erent types of waste and recycling them.
Other components (control boards, transmitter
batteries etc.), on the other hand, may contain
pollutants. They should therefore be removed and
handed over to companies authorised to recover
and recycle them.
