CONTROLS AND FEATURES
Refer to the figure on page 3 for location of controls and
features.
Handlebar
Turn handlebar clockwise to steer right. Turn handlebar
counterclockwise to steer left. The unit is capable of
spinning in a zero turn radius when handlebar is turned
to the maximum position in either direction.
WARNING: The steering mechanism allows
for quick steering capability with sharp turns.
Slow down before attempting sharp turns.
Safety Interlock System
• To operate the power take off (PTO) or traction
drive, operator must be sitting in the seat.
CAUTION: The safety interlock system is
intended to stop the engine whenever the
operator is not seated and the PTO control is
engaged. Test this system each time the unit
is operated. If this system does not function
as described, do not operate until repairs are
made. NOTE: Engine must not start unless
PTO is disengaged and direction control
pedal is in neutral position.
Parking Brake Interlock System
• To prevent transmission damage, moving the
directional control pedal with the parking brake
engaged will shut off the engine.
Mower Lift Lever
The hydraulic lift system is used to raise
mower to clear obstructions such as curbs.
Place lever in LIFT (3) position to lift mower.

Release lever to HOLD (2) position to keep
mower in lifted position. Place lever in FLOAT

(1) position to return mower to ground.

WARNING: Never lift attachment unless PTO
switch is in the OFF position. Never turn PTO
switch ON when attachment is in raised
position.
WARNING: Mowing and transporting should
always be done with the mower lift lever in the
FLOAT position.

OPERATION

Throttle Lever
Move lever to FAST (1) position to increase
engine speed. Move lever to SLOW (2)
position to decrease engine speed. Move

lever to a middle position when the engine is
cold. Move the throttle lever to FAST (1)

position when the engine is hot.

Oil Pressure Warning Light

position to test warning light. The light should glow red.
NOTE: Engine must be off for at least five minutes prior
to this test.
Parking Brake Lever
Place the lever in LOCK (2) position to engage
the brake.

Place the lever in UNLOCK (1) position to
disengage the brake.
2 If one or both wheels do not turn easily, check
the brake to ensure it is disengaged.

Ignition Switch

IMPORTANT: Do not keep starter running for over 15
seconds. Do not run the starter for more than 15
seconds in any one minute.
PTO Switch

Hour Meter
Displays number of hours ignition switch has been in
run position.

If the warning light comes on while
operating unit, stop unit and engine as
quickly as possible. Check engine oil level
and inspect engine for external damage.
Turn the ignition switch to the start
Turn ignition switch clockwise from OFF
(1) position to START (3) position to start
unit. The switch springs back to RUN (2)
position. Turn key switch to OFF (1)
position to stop unit.
Place switch in ON (1) position to engage
the mower. Place switch in OFF (2)
position to disengage the mower.
