❏ To avoid getting dirt on the ink supply port, store
the removed ink cartridge properly. The ink
supply port has a valve in it so it does not need to
be capped.
❏ Removed ink cartridges may have ink around the
ink supply port, so be careful not to get any ink on
the surrounding area when removing the
cartridges.
❏ To maintain the quality of the print head, this
printer stops printing before ink cartridges are
completely expended.
❏ Although the ink cartridges may contain recycled
materials, this does not affect printer function or
performance.
❏ Do not dismantle or remodel ink cartridges. You
may not be able to print properly.
❏ Do not drop or otherwise subject an ink cartridge
to a strong impact. Ink may leak from the
cartridge.
Notes on handling the ink
supply units (only for models
with ink supply units)
❏ Store ink supply units at room temperature out of
direct sunlight.
❏ To ensure print quality, we recommend using all
of the ink before whichever of the following dates
is earlier:
❏ The recommended expiry date shown on the
ink supply unit packaging
❏ One year from the date the ink supply unit
was installed
❏ Ink supply units that have been stored at low
temperatures for an extended period should be
allowed to return to room temperature over a
period of four hours.
❏ The ink level and other data are stored in the IC
chip, allowing ink supply units to be used after
being removed and replaced.
Introduction
❏ To avoid getting dirt on the ink supply port, store
the removed ink supply unit properly. The ink
supply port has a valve in it so it does not need to
be capped.
❏ Removed ink supply units may have ink around
the ink supply port, so be careful not to get any
ink on the surrounding area when removing the
ink supply units.
❏ Do not touch the ink supply unit IC chip. Doing
so may prevent normal operation and printing.
❏ Do not drop or knock an ink supply unit against
hard objects; otherwise, the ink may leak from the
ink supply unit.
❏ Even when the printer is not in use, some ink will
be consumed for all colors by head cleaning and
other maintenance operations needed to keep the
head in good condition.
❏ Although the ink supply units may contain
recycled materials, this does not affect printer
function or performance.
❏ Do not leave the printer without ink supply units
installed. The ink in the printer will dry out and
the printer will not function as expected. Leave
ink supply units for all colors installed even when
the printer is not in use.
❏ Install ink supply units for all colors. You cannot
print unless all colors are installed.
❏ To maintain the quality of the head, this printer
stops printing before ink supply units are
completely expended.
❏ Do not dismantle or remodel ink supply units.
You may not be able to print properly.
