cate the seal ring with a little cooking oil. This
also helps extend the life of the seal ring.
- To prevent the seal ring from becoming
misshapen, the pressure cooker should not be
stored with the lid closed.
- Allow frozen food to thaw before cooking it.
Legumes and dried fruit must be left to soak
beforehand.
- Foods that froth should first be cooked without
the lid and then covered after removing the
froth.
- The pressure cooker requires very little water
to cook, as there is little water loss unless the
food is steamed for a long time.
- High pressure and steam cause food to disco-
lour. Coloured spices can be used to make the
food look better and more palatable.
- Turn the heat source down if soup boils over.
REPLACING THE SEAL
- Seal discolouration does not cause any
problems. The seal should be replaced every
one to two years, depending on how often the
pressure cooker is used. If the seal becomes
damaged, broken or deformed then it must be
replaced immediately.

HANDY TIPS

If the control valve does not rise, this may be
because:
- The lid is not fitted correctly,
- The heat source is too low and should be
turned up;
- The seal is dirty, damaged or deformed and
should be cleaned or replaced;
- There is not enough water in the pressure
cooker (check the filling quantity).
- If steam escapes from under the lid and not
through the pressure control valve, this may be
because:
- - The lid is not fitted and/or closed correctly
(close the lid correctly);
- - The seal ring is not fitted correctly or dirty, da-
maged or misshapen and needs to be cleaned
or replaced.
- If the lid is difficult to open or close, this may be
because:
- - the seal ring is not an original replacement
part and does not fit the lid (use only original
replacement parts);
CAUTION:
- Use only original replacement parts. If it is
not possible to purchase replacement parts to
repair the pressure cooker, please contact the
supplier.
- The pressure cooker is designed to be used on
a stable heat source, such as an electric hob,
induction hob, or gas cooker.
ANOMALIES AND REPAIR
- If the pressure cooker is not working properly,
turn off the heat source immediately, place the
pot on a flat surface and rinse it slowly with
cold water to cool it down and reduce the pres-
sure. Only use the pressure cooker again after
ensuring that the fault has been rectified.
- Take the appliance to an authorised technical
support service if problems arise. Do not try to
dismantle or repair it, as this may be dange-
rous.
- If any anomaly is detected, check the following
