If there is the danger with this installation that the probe end moves so much that it occasionally touches the vessel floor or cone, the probe may need to be shortened at the lower end and fixed in place.

As the measuring signal penetrates many plastics, installation in plastic bypasses or stilling wells can produce incorrect results.
