5.2 Electrical connections
Note
Terminal ranges of the cable glands
Use cables matched to the terminal ranges of the cable glands:
• Cable gland M16 x 1.5 (plastic): Terminal range 5 to 10 mm
• Cable gland M16 x 1.5 (metal): Terminal range 6 to 10 mm
• Cable gland M20 x 1.5 (plastic/metal): Terminal range 10 to 14 mm
Note
Correct fastening of the cable glands
Fasten the cable glands as follows:
• M16 x 1.5 clamping range 5 to 10 mm made of plastic, counter nut and cap nut (clamp cables
or plugs) with a torque of 3.0 Nm.
• M20 x 1.5 clamping range 10 to 14 mm made of plastic, counter nut and cap nut with a
torque of 4.5 Nm.
• M16 x 1.5 clamping range 6 to 10 mm made of metal, counter nut and cap nut with a torque
of 6.5 Nm.
• M20 x 1.5 clamping range 10 to 14 mm made of metal, counter nut and cap nut with a torque
of 9.0 Nm.

Connecting the signal cables

We recommend the following cable cross-sections for use as signal cables:
• Solid conductor 0.08 ... 2.5 mm² / 28 ... 12 AWG
• Finely-stranded conductor 0.08 ... 2.5 mm² / 28 ... 12 AWG
• Finely-stranded conductor; with end sleeve with plastic collar 0.25 ... 1.5 mm² / 23 ... 16 AWG
• Finely-stranded conductor; with end sleeve without plastic collar 0.25 ... 2.5 mm² / 23 ... 12

Note
The stripped length should be 5 ... 6 mm / 0.2 ... 0.24 ".
