Volume controls (1) and (2) can also be used to adjust the
volume of the computer voice, even if the Listen mode is not
active.
Patients may use the squeeze bulb to alert the operating personnel
(patient alert). You will recognize the patient alert as follows:
◾ Acoustically:
– Continuous tone over the intercom
– Audio signal through the patient's headphones and through the
loudspeaker in the examination room (only as long as the
patient squeezes the bulb)
◾ Visually:
– LED of the Speak button and Listen button on the intercom
light up
You can reset the patient alert by pressing the Speak button or the
Listen button on the intercom.

Patients, for example, sedated patients, who may not be able to
alert the personnel must be monitored by a person present in the
examination room.
