BATTERY CARE DURING STORAGE
When the vehicle will not be used for a period of 10 days or longer, check battery
water levels (flooded type batteries) and perform one of the battery storage
procedures listed in the chart below.
If ambient temperatures could drop below freezing during the storage of a
vehicle equipped with lithium-ion batteries, refer to the cold battery

AUXILIARY BATTERY STORAGE
Your vehicle is equipped with an auxiliary battery. During storage, this battery
must be trickle charged. If the vehicle does not operate when removing from
storage, be sure to check the auxiliary battery voltage first.
If your vehicle is equipped with a lead acid battery, the auxiliary battery is
located under the dash. If your vehicle is equipped with a Li-ion battery, the
auxiliary battery can be located under the rear access panel.
FLOODED BATTERY FLUID CHECK
On flooded batteries, check the fluid level often. Add only distilled water. Tap
water contains minerals that are harmful to a battery.
Accessory watering systems are available for 12-volt and 6-volt flooded
batteries. See your authorized GEM dealer for more information.
Never charge batteries if plates are exposed above the water level.
