Table 20 —Refrigerant Circuit Description
Symbol
INV
Used to vary the refrigerant flow rate by adjusting the frequency based on capacity requirement
O/S
Used to separate oil from high pressure gas refrigerant, which is pumped out from the compressor
ST1
Switches the operation mode between heating and cooling
HEX
Transfers heat with outside surroundings
FAN
Regulates the heat exchanger capacity by adjusting rotating speeds
EEV
Used to adjust refrigerant flow rate
ACC
Used to separate gas refrigerant to prevent liquid slugging
SV4
Used to control the amount of oil from the oil separator back to the inverter compressor
SV5
Bypasses hot gas from compressor discharge in heating mode
SV6
Used to cool down compressor by spraying liquid refrigerant when discharge temperature > 199°F
T3
Used to detect pipe temperature on heat exchanger
T4
Used to detect ambient temperature
T5
Used to detect discharge pipe temperature
FP
This plug is going to melt at a temperature of 158°F to 167°F when fire occurs
P-Sensor
Used to detect high pressure
HPS
Prevents abnormal increase of high pressure, which will activate at 638 psi and shut down compressor
LPS
Prevents abnormal decrease of low pressure, which will activate at 20.3 psi and shut down compressor
