Remedy:
– Make sure that the B- connecting cable is connected properly.
– Make sure that the connecting cable for the TD/TN/Term.1
signal is connected properly.
– Is the trigger clamp-on pickup attached to the ignition cable of
cylinder 1?
– Does the trigger clamp-on pickup close properly?
– You must not be able to see a gap between the contact
surfaces of the ferrite core.
If swarf has collected on the ferrite core of the trigger clamp-
on pickup, carefully blow it out with oil-free compressed air.
Clean off oily residues on the contact surfaces of the ferrite
core with a clean, soft cloth. To avoid getting dirt in the
trigger clamp-on pickup, always clean the ignition cables
before attaching the pickup to them.
If this does not remedy the problem, contact your Bosch After-
Sales Service representative.

9. Maintenance

Routine maintenance keeps the measuring instrument ready for
operation.
The measuring instruments must be serviced at 6-monthly inter-
vals. Maintenance work can be carried out either by a professio-
nal maintenance service or by an expert member of the technical
staff of the company that owns the instrument.
Repairs to the instruments (open, adjusting, repairing) must only
be performed by authorised After-Sales Service personnel.
i Always comply with the relevant maintenance and calibration
regulations applicable in your country.
The follow intervals must be kept to:
Six-monthly maintenance
– Renewal of filter GF1 (18)
– Renewal of inlet filter GF2 (16)
– Renewal of filter GF3 (13) and pump filter GF4 (15)
– Checking whether the PVC hose are connected to condensate
outlet (22)
– Visual check of sampling probe. If heavily contaminated, blow
out by blowing compressed air in direction opposite to suction
direction.
– Carry out leak test as described in section 4.1.3.
Annual maintenance
The exhaust-gas measuring instrument must be opened when
carrying out the annual maintenance work.
These maintenance procedures must be carried out by a profes-
sional maintenance service. The procedures comprise the six-
monthly maintenance procedures and the following extra proce-
dures:
– Renewal of protective filter GF5 and zero-gas filter GF6.
– If necessary, renewal of activated charcoal filter in zero-gas
path.
– Renewal of non-return valves RV1 and RV2.
– Checking measuring accuracy of measuring instrument using
test gas.

9.1 Leak-free sampling system

To guarantee that exhaust-gas measurements taken are accura-
te, it is absolutely essential that the sampling system is free of
leaks. Make sure that the system is free of leaks by carrying out
a leak test (see section 4.3).

9.2 Sampling probe (19)

Keep the opening at the tip of the sampling probe clean. If you find
HC residues or condensate build-up , pull the probe off the hose
and blow it out with compressed air in the direction opposite to
the suction direction.
