Whitelisting mechanisms provide additional protection against undesired applications or
malware and unauthorized changes to installed applications or executable files (.exe, .dll).
Do not try to make any changes to the whitelist that go beyond commissioning and
maintenance activities.

The HMI App software neither uses nor processes personal data.

Screen configuration

SIMATIC IPC277E panel is a nanopanel PC with a resistive single-touch screen. Typically the
screen is initialized at the factory. However, if you want to reconfigure the screen settings such
as screen brightness, calibration and so on, reconfigure them via the IPC Configuration Center
software installed with your system under the Administrator account. The IPC Configuration
Center provides a convenient interface for adjusting system configuration.

External keyboard

Siemens strongly recommends that you use an external keyboard with USB interface (either USB
2.0 or USB 3.0) to user-friendly complete any type of tasks performed on SIMATIC IPC277E
during commissioning or troubleshooting process. When an HMI image needs to be installed, an
external keyboard is mandatorily required. See Section "Image installation (Page 71)".
In case that Remote Desktop Connection is enabled, it is unnecessary to connect an external
keyboard.
