ATTENTION

X-RAY Safety Reference

Purpose
This procedure provides instructions to check the safety interlock switch set operation and to
measure the X-ray emission at all points outside the external surfaces of the Agilent 5DX X-ray
system cabinet (Ref. 21 CFR, paragraph 1020.40, 13(c)). This procedure shall be utilized as follows:
as part of System Integration Procedure for First Time (low power) power up and for the
initial system tests;
as part of Preshipment Procedure before shipping the system;
as part of Installation Procedure after the systems installation at a customer site.
Until otherwise specified, this procedure can also be utilized as a radiation survey performed by a
trained and authorized customer.
Warning and safety consideration
If any local reading exceeds 0.5 mR/hr, shut off X-rays and fix the
