Supplementary Restraints System

PASSENGER AIRBAG

The airbag is designed to deploy during a
significant frontal or near-frontal crash.
The airbag inflates within a few
thousandths of a second cushioning
forward body movement and deflates on
contact with the occupant. The airbag is
not designed to deploy during a minor
frontal crash, rear crash, side crash or a
vehicle rollover.

The switch is on the end of the instrument
panel on the passenger side of your vehicle.
The passenger airbag deactivation
indicator is near the climate controls.
Switching the Passenger Airbag
Off
WARNING: You must switch the
passenger airbag off when using a
rearward facing child restraint on the
front seat.
1. Insert the key blade into the switch.

2. Turn the key to the OFF position.
3. When you switch the ignition on, check
that the passenger airbag deactivation
OFF indicator illuminates. If it does not
illuminate when you switch the ignition
on, this indicates a malfunction. Have
your vehicle checked as soon as
possible.

removal of the child restraint.
1. Insert the key blade into the switch.
