Oil Level Check

Check the engine oil level w ith the engine stopped and in a level
position.
1. Rem ove the oil filler cap/dipstick and w ipe it clean.
2. Insert the oil filler cap/dipstick into the oil filler neck as show n,
but do not screw it in, then rem ove it to check the oil level.
3. If the oil level is near or below the low er lim it m ark on the
dipstick, fill w ith the recom m ended oil (see page
upper lim it m ark (bottom edge of the oil fill hole). Do not overfill.
4. Reinstall the oil filler cap/dipstick.

Running the engine with a low oil level can cause engine damage.
The Oil Alert system (applicable types) w ill autom atically stop the
engine before the oil level falls below the safe lim it. How ever, to
avoid the inconvenience of an unexpected shutdow n, alw ays
check the engine oil level before startup.

Oil Change

Drain the used oil w hen the engine is warm . Warm oil drains
quickly and com pletely.
1. Place a suitable container below the engine to catch the used oil,
then rem ove the oil filler cap/dipstick, oil drain plug and w asher.
2. Allow the used oil to drain com pletely, then reinstall the oil drain
plug and new w asher, and tighten the oil drain plug securely.
Please dispose of used m otor oil in a m anner that is com patible
w ith the environm ent. We suggest you take used oil in a sealed
container to your local recycling center or service station for
reclam ation. Do not throw it in the trash, pour it on the ground,
or down a drain.
3. With the engine in a level position, fill to the upper lim it m ark
(bottom edge of the oil fill hole) on the dipstick w ith the
recom m ended oil (see page ).

4. Install the oil filler cap/dipstick and tighten securely.

2 : 1 Reduction Case With Centrifugal Clutch
1. Rem ove the oil filler cap/dipstick and w ipe it clean.
2. Insert and rem ove the oil filler cap/dipstick w ithout screw ing it
into the filler hole. Check the oil level show n on the oil filler cap/
dipstick.
3. If the oil level is low , add oil to reach the upper lim it m ark on the
dipstick w ith the recom m ended oil.
4. Screw in the oil filler cap/dipstick and tighten securely.
